The short version
This website does not ask you for any information. There are no forms, no accounts, no checkout and no payments. You can read every page without telling us anything about yourself.
We set no cookies. The only thing this website stores in your browser is your own shortlist, and only if you choose to build one. It stays on your device.
We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We only hold your details if you write to us, message us or call us, and then only to answer you.
Two things do still happen automatically, and both are explained below: your browser fetches our typeface from Google Fonts, and our web host keeps ordinary technical records of page requests.
Who we are
This website is published by Chimanlals Private Limited, a paper house in Fort, Mumbai. Our showroom and place of business is A-2, Taj Building, 210 D.N. Road, Fort, Mumbai 400 001, India.
You can reach us by email at enquiries05@chimanlals.com, by telephone on 022 2207 7717 or 022 2207 4764, or on WhatsApp at +91 85918 76394.
This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with this website. It is written to be read, not to be waded through. If anything here is unclear, please ask us and we will explain it.
What this website collects
Nothing. There is no contact form on this website, no newsletter signup, no search box that reaches us, no login, no customer account, no shopping cart and no payment page. There is no way for this website to send us information about you, because it has no connection to any system of ours.
The website is a catalogue. You browse it, and if something interests you, you contact us yourself through the ordinary channels below.
Information you give us when you enquire
When you get in touch, we receive whatever you choose to send. In practice that is usually your name, the way you contacted us, and what you are asking about.
- Email. Clicking an enquiry link opens your own email program with our address, and often a subject line and a starting message, already filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it. We then hold your email in our mailbox, as any business would.
- WhatsApp. Clicking a WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp on your own device with our number and a starting message ready. Nothing is sent until you send it. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and your use of it is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not ours.
- Telephone. If you call us, we may note your name and what you asked about so we can follow up properly.
- Visiting the showroom. If you place an order or ask us to hold something, we will take the details we need to arrange it.
We do not ask for and do not want any sensitive information through these channels. Please do not send us passwords, card numbers, bank details, or identity document numbers. We never ask for payment details by email or WhatsApp.
What we use it for
We use what you send us to do the thing you contacted us about, and nothing else:
- To answer your enquiry, and to tell you what is currently available, in which colours and designs
- To prepare a quotation, to arrange an order, and to arrange collection or delivery
- To keep a record of what was agreed, so that we can serve you properly afterwards
We do not build customer profiles. We do not sell, rent or trade anyone’s details. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked us a question.
Services your browser contacts
Two things are worth telling you plainly.
Typeface
The typeface used on these pages is served by Google Fonts. That means your browser requests a file from Google when a page loads, and in doing so Google will see your IP address and which browser you are using. We receive nothing from this, and it is not used to track you across the web. The site is designed to read correctly without it.
Links that take you elsewhere
Some buttons take you to another company’s service: Google Maps for directions and for our public business listing, and WhatsApp for messaging. These are ordinary links, not embedded windows. There is no map embedded in this website and no chat widget running on it, so nothing is shared with Google or Meta until you actually click through. Once you do, you are on their service and their privacy policy applies.
The customer reviews shown on this website are quoted from our public Google listing. They are stored on this site as plain text. There is no live review widget, so no connection is made to Google to display them.
Server records
Like any website, the computers that serve these pages keep routine technical records of requests: an IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser used. These are ordinary server and network security records kept by our hosting provider. They are used to keep the site running and to protect it from attack and abuse, not to identify or profile visitors, and we do not connect them to any other information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is useful for the enquiry and the working relationship, and for as long afterwards as we need it for our records or to meet a legal or tax obligation. When it is no longer needed for either, we delete it or stop using it.
We have not set an artificial deletion date we would not honour. If you would like your correspondence removed sooner, ask us and we will do it wherever we are able to.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, in line with what Indian law currently requires of a business of our size: access is limited to the people who need it, and our systems are kept current.
We will not pretend to a guarantee nobody can honestly give. No email service, messaging service or website can be promised to be perfectly secure, which is another reason not to send us sensitive personal or financial information.
Children
This website is a catalogue for a stationery and gifting business. It is not aimed at children, it has nothing directed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly hold personal information about a child from an enquiry. If you believe we have, please tell us and we will remove it.
Your choices and your rights
Whatever the legal position at any moment, this is what we will do if you ask us:
- Tell you what information about you we hold, and where it came from
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your enquiry correspondence, wherever we are able to
- Stop contacting you
Write to enquiries05@chimanlals.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or call the showroom. We will answer promptly, and we may need to check who you are first so that we do not give your information to somebody else. There is no charge.
You can also simply clear your shortlist and the site data for this website in your browser, without telling us at all, because that information never reaches us in the first place.
Where the law currently stands
We would rather be accurate than impressive, so it is worth being precise about this.
India has passed the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 were notified in November 2025. They are being brought into force in stages. As at the date of this policy, the parts that are in force are mainly those setting up the Data Protection Board of India. The parts that create the detailed obligations and the individual rights are dated to come into force in 2027.
Until then, the law that applies to information like this is the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it about reasonable security practices and sensitive personal data. This policy is written to meet that, and to be ready for the new framework when it arrives.
So we are not going to tell you that you have a statutory right today that does not begin until 2027. What we will tell you is that we will honour the requests listed above now, as a matter of practice, and that when the new provisions commence we will meet them. We will update this page rather than quietly leaving it out of date.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website works, we will update this page before or at the same time, not afterwards. The date at the top of this page always tells you when it was last changed.
In particular, if this website ever adds analytics, advertising technology, an embedded map, a contact form or a chat widget, this page will say so, and we will put in place whatever consent choice is then appropriate.
