The design
A card and its envelope, as one
A Chimanlals card is designed together with the envelope it arrives in, so the greeting and its cover share a border, a motif and a finish. Each is printed by hand.
A closer look
The card is printed. So is the envelope.
Look at the corners. The motif that fills the card is repeated, smaller and quieter, on the envelope it arrives in. That is what makes it a set rather than a card and a cover: both sheets go through the same handprinting, in the same colours, in the same run.

Paper Culture
Print, colour and occasion meet in a coordinated card and envelope, where the border on one is answered by the border on the other. A greeting arrives as a finished paper composition, printed by hand, and read twice: once on the envelope, once inside.
The craft
Printed by hand, screen by screen
Chimanlals largely uses silk-screen printing, a labour-oriented technique that creates the rich, vibrant effect described in the company profile. Cards are presented as coordinated card-and-envelope sets.
